There's something about this deep, rich colour that I just love. I've never been a fan of soft colours - for me it's about saturated hues. The world of interiors is coming into a time of indigo, so I'm thrilled. Out with the soft, in with the bold. You only need to look to the Greek Isles to know that blue marries perfectly with white, making it a quick way to bring a slice of the Med into your home. Here's a few things on the market now, as well as an inspiration shot from Elle Decor. Order a print online, like this one by Matisse and throw it in a white Ikea frame, for a quick, cheap way to brighten up the walls. Then spend the money you saved on a Proenza Schouler dress!

silver linings
Keep cool with silver and greys at home and the office. These shades will stand the test of time and will always work with new colours that you add throughout the years. I'm on the lookout for some new light fittings for the bedroom at the moment and came across these gorgeous pendant lights from Zaffero. Trevor Mein's photos of storm clouds look amazing when framed, and will always be welcome in my house.

guest of honour
I love the entire Gervasoni Ghost collection. This piece, the Ghost 13 15, is the perfect solution for a guest room, especially for those who are short on space. To create a room which can change very easily from a sophisticated reading room to a bedroom, here are a few suggestions:

winter warming
It's the middle of winter here in Aus, and though I normally love monochrome, it's time for a bit of colour to brighten things up. I love reds, oranges and coral-shades and can't wait to get some of these colours into the wardrobe and the house. I was given a smaller, white version of this Alvar Aalto vase from previous colleagues and I adore it, so a red number would be a welcome addition. As for this Hugh Stewart photograph - I can't wait to own this (or any of his prints for that matter) one day!

settling in
I've recently moved back to Brisbane from Sydney, and have been busy settling in to the new home. It's very exciting but all of a sudden we have a whole Queenslander house to fill, rather than just one bedroom in a terrace. Luckily I've managed to get my hands on a whole heap of gorgeous timber furniture from some family (thanks to an uncle and aunt who are down-sizing), but there are still a few gaps to fill. Here are a few things that look like they'll do the job without breaking the bank.
Rug, $399, from Freedom; Chair, $189 each, from Bon Bentwood; Sofa, $499, from Ikea; Lamp, $79, from Ikea
